Engineer Reading Plans

The Process

Before you build, you will need to get a building permit from the city and contact a windstorm engineer. You will then need to submit your plans to the engineer so they can review the plans. The engineer will let you know if they can take the job, as well as the cost of the job. Once everything is agreed upon and construction starts, call us to schedule an inspection.

You'll have to submit product evaluations for the products being used to build. Once it passes the requirements, our engineer signs a WPI-2 to the state and sends it to the state issues a WPI-8. The WPI-8 certifies that your building has been approved and that the construction and materials meet all guidelines.
